Cammy back to NY...

Mike Cameron was the Mets center fielder from 2002-2004 and the right fielder for 2005 after the Beltran signing.
Cameron was a gold glover caliber fielder with a solid bat and decent speed, who was taken back by the acquisition of Carlos Beltran.
Some believe that the one time All-Star and lifetime .250 hitter requested a trade after the 2005 season, at 33 y/o he still had several years left in his legs in center.
After the now infamous collision others believed that SheaSource: Mets Fever RSS Feed

Platoon at 1B new LF...

According to Adam Rubin his sources believe that the Mets will look to fill the power void with a left fielder through free agency while trading for a right handed 1B to platoon with Murphy.
This appears to be a result of the market along with the emergence of Ike Davis. The market has several quality left fielders, lead by Matt Holliday and Jason Bay, who if your willing to pay would be a great addition to any team.
In addition to not wanting to block Davis for the 2011 seasonSource: Mets Fever RSS Feed

Video: Sam Bradford Hit And Hurt Against Texas

Sam Bradford re-injured his shoulder against Texas on the Sooners’ second series today. He did not return to the game.

Bradford didn’t take a hard hit from Texas’ Aaron Williams, but landed on the same shoulder he injured against BYU earlier this season.

6,000 Tix Unsold ALCS Game One! Tipping Point?

Peter Abraham of the BOSTON GLOBE has the startling news this afternoon: “there were still 6,000 seats available as of last night through the team. Just a few minutes ago, to see what was out there, I pulled up four tickets on Yankees.com for section 221. OK, so they were $431 each. But they were there.”

McCain Is Leading Fight To Pardon Jack Johnson

I hesitate to brag about how far we’ve come as a society when there’s still things like this going on, but the racial forces that allied against former heavyweight boxing champion Jack Johnson in the early portion of the 20th century really are a collection of rickety, antique notions. Isn’t it high time that Johnson — convicted in 1913 of violating the Mann Act — was officially pardoned?

Which 20 Clubs Would Be In Your Premier League?

If you could pick any 20 teams to be in the Premier League, which clubs would you pick and why?

To make it harder, you can only pick clubs from the Premier League, Football League and non-league football. And, to make it fun, you can select teams from the Scottish Premier League too, if you like.

Imagine a league where all 20 clubs would be mouthwatering teams to watch. Or for those who maybe aren’t the greatest football teams would feature incredible stadiums or boisterousSource: EPL Talk RSS Feed

If The Personal Issues Don’t Get GorrilaBeas, The Internet Trolls Surely Will

Prior to scoring 24 points against Oklahoma City last night, Miami 2nd year G Michael Beasley — fresh off a Twitter-inspired trip to rehab — participated in a Dwayne Wade Ustream webcast that quickly took an awkward turn.  From the Sun-Sentinel’s Ira Winderman :

Following up on a session initially put together by Heat guard Dwyane Wade, Beasley found himself responding Tuesday night to a posted comment relating to his substance-abuse issues this summer.

Phillies Beat Rockies, Lead 2-1

Don’t ever underestimate the heart of a champion. The Philadelphia Phillies proved that saying correct one more time on Sunday night. Although the Phillies got down early 3-1 against the Colorado Rockies, Philadelphia kept battling and ended up with a 6-5 victory.

With the game tied 5-5 in the top of the ninth, Ryan Howard hit a sacrifice fly to score Jimmy Rollins. In the bottom of the ninth, Phillies fans had to pray. Brad Lidge, Philadelphia’s closer who had a 7.21 ERA and anSource: Knuckle Curve RSS Feed

MLB to See Huge Ratings From Vermont And Delaware Tomorrow

ESPN’s SportsNation has asked and the people have answered. No one, except for those rebellious diehards in Vermont and Delaware, care to watch dramatic postseason baseball tomorrow.

That’s right, a pathetic Sunday of football that includes Browns-Bills and Panthers-Redskins takes a steaming dump on the very best of MLB.

The poll is a bit of a shock considering how many commenters on this very site are fiending for Rockies-Phillies tomorrow night at 10pm.

The Hefty Bag Lives Another Day

The Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome is not dead yet.  The Twinkies will host the one game playoff to determine the A.L. Central but because Monday Night Football is already scheduled to take place, the game will have to be moved to Tuesday.  If the Yankees pick the longer series, which they will, they get the winner of the Tigers/Twins game coming off of no rest.

All Eyes on … Minnesota?

This is like, the biggest sports weekend in Minnesota history. Rod Barajas is not at all involved, but this photo was a great way to end the day.

The Twins need a sweep of the Royals and the Tigers to stumble at home against the White Sox to force a playoff … which would likely be Tuesday (because of the Monday Night Football game). Bonus for Minnesota sports fans: Zack Greinke, your probable AL Cy Young winner, pitches Saturday. So at least three times Saturday, you’ll see the ALSource: The Big Lead RSS Feed

Real Madrid reached a short-term agreement with center Cheikh Samb, who inked a one-month deal with the club, with a team option to extend it for an extra month. Samb (215, 24) arrives from the New York Knicks, where he played a couple of NBA games last season.
